MAURICE DROUIN

Local jazz legend Maurice Drouin has been a fixture at the Lows in Motion event for years and we are pleased to welcome him – alongside jazz singer extraordinaire Tatrina Tye – back for our 7th annual event.

Maurice moved to Saskatoon in 1980 for what he thought would be a “short stay.” Thirty-five years later, this versatile musician still calls Bridge City home. Maurice is celebrated for his ability to captivate audiences with his distinctive musical style; his smooth, fun-loving stage persona; and a practically unlimited supply of energy. He has also provided guidance, mentorship, and opportunity for a legion of young musicians and has appeared on countless stages both in and around Saskatoon.

In recognition of his hard work and significant contributions to the Saskatchewan music scene, Maurice received a Special Recognition award at the 2006 SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival.

Maurice and Tatrina will kick-start the evening’s entertainment line-up and, as with years past, set the tone (no pun intended) for a musical evening!
